Core Responsibilities:
1.Lead and drive Six Sigma and Lean projects to deliver significant operational improvements and financial benefits;
2.Act as change agent to instill Six Sigma / Lean culture throughout the organization;
3.Implement Lean tools and practices to eliminate non-value added activities. Especially for scrap and inventory reduction. Drive process improvements and sustainment through Lean methods showing quantitative results of key business metrics visually throughout the plant and offices. Work directly with operators as well as their Supervisors and Managers to implement Lean.
4.Utilizing Lean, drive continual improvement in safety and quality of processes and products across all functional areas in order to establish manufacturing excellence.
5.Responsible for coordinating documentation of processes, utilizing standard work. Responsible for controlling the documentation of standard work instructions, revisions, and their distribution.
6.Accountable for coordinating and documenting training of employees on standard work procedures. Existing employees as well as new employees to insure all employees are properly trained and documentation is completed. Coordinate on-going training at defined intervals to insure adherence to standard work.
7.Develop and implement a certified operator program to qualify team members as trained and following standard work instructions.
8.Lead 5S implementation and sustainment in plant and offices. Responsible for training, utilization of 5S techniques, as well as measuring and auditing performance of teams to sustain 5S improvements.
9.Transfer best practices and standard operating procedures to sister plant, insuring consistency of processes and products between plants – plant of manufacture transparency
10.Support day to day operational needs to meet operational requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Business or Engineering, Master’s degree a plus
Strong background with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques
Certification, license, or registrations in Lean and/or six sigma a plus
Working knowledge of Minitab Software, MS. Office (include Project tools). Familiar with quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, and SPC etc.
Effective communication skills both internal and external to the business unit
Strong analytical skills – ability to analyze data pertinent to the situation and identify root cause and effect relationship. Ability to make decisions based on data and drive action to improve plant operations and maximize plant operations performance.
Detail oriented individual willing to spend time on the floor to see firsthand what the data is showing on paper while actively engaging associates to understand and drive improvement utilizing lean tools
Collaborate with support staff (HR, Finance, EHS, IT, Engineering) to build and secure support and resources of plant operations, as well as providing support and resour
